孔子诞辰2561周年 北京举行1949年以来首个祭孔大典

(北京综合讯)昨天是中国古代先贤孔子诞辰2561周年纪念日,中国各地举行纪念活动,首都北京也举行自1949年以来的首次祭孔大典。北京大学、清华大学等校的四名学者日前联合发出倡议,希望将孔子的诞辰日,也就是每年的9月28日设定为“尊师日”。
据报道,两岸的师生联合祭孔大典仪式昨天上午在位于北京东城区国子监街的国子监孔庙举行,来自台湾和北京的两岸师生共计500人,共同祭奠孔子,弘扬中华传统文化。
1949年后,虽然台湾一直未中断尊孔、祭孔,在中国大陆,孔子却因为被视为封建文化代表人物而遭中共当局禁止一切的祭祀、纪念活动,一直到上世纪90 年代,孔子故里山东曲阜才恢复举行祭孔大典,中国大陆政府近年更在海外大建开展汉语教学为主要活动内容的“孔子学院”,但作为首都的北京在昨天以前从未举 行类似的仪式。
法新社说,北京孔庙昨天举行的两岸师生联合祭孔大典保安森严,只对媒体开放,却禁止公众参与。
穿上传统礼服的年轻志愿者——主要是北京人民大学的学生——在陪祭官的引导下,在大成殿上行四拜礼与祭孔仪式,重现了西周以来的古老祭祀文化。
北京孔庙建于1302年,是曲阜以外最大的孔庙。

College Station, Texas – The Confucius Institute and the Office for International Outreach at Texas A&M University hosted the 2010 Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA) Annual Conference on August 28th, 2010 at the George Bush Presidential Complex Annenberg Presidential Conference Center. The conference was a one day event intended to provide professional development on learning and assessment primarily for teachers of Mandarin Chinese. Ninety teachers, professors and administrators from various schools and universities throughout the state of Texas attended the conference.
Enrollment Begins for 2010 Fall Community Chinese Class
Enrollment has started for the Fall Community Mandarin Chinese Class offered by the Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University. The Mandarin class is a noncredit bearing class designed to provide a basic introduction to the Mandarin language. The class is open to all members of the Bryan and College Station community and friends of Texas A&M University and it is set to begin on Tuesday, September 14.

Confucius Institute scholarship program
The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University would like to announce a scholarship opportunity for students interested in studying Chinese in China. The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program (CISP) was established by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters to encourage students and Chinese language teachers all over the world to study Chinese or conduct research regarding Chinese language and culture in China.
Student program of the 4th China-U.S. relations conference
The 4th China–U.S. Relations Conference, “Looking Ahead After 30 Years,” was held from October 21st to October 23rd in Beijing, to honor the 30th anniversary of China-U.S. diplomatic relationship. Texas A&M University has partnered with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation to co-sponsor and organize four China-U.S. Relations Conferences since 2003. The conference series has become one of the largest of its kind in terms of scope and status, garnering strong support from both the Chinese and U.S.
