Come Celebrate the Year of the Dragon

The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University cordially invites you to this year’s Lunar New Year Celebration and Dinner at Sbisa Dining Center at 6:00 pm on January 26th. The celebration promises to be a wonderful evening beginning with a traditional Lion Dance and Kung Fu presentation outside Sbisa. In addition to the great performances, Sbisa Dining Center will be serving a diverse Asian buffet dinner in honor of the Lunar New Year. This year, we are proud to announce that we will feature two prestigious guest chefs from Pho John’s and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Tickets for the Asian dinner buffet are available at the door for $10.00 (meal plans are allowed); $5.00 for Children ages 3 to 10, and free for children 3 and under.

6:00 to 6:30 PM – Lion Dance & Kung Fu Presentation by Houston’s Shi Xing Hao Shaolin Kung Fu Academy
Cultural Events inside Sbisa*
6:30 to 8:00 PM – Calligraphy and Painting Demonstration & Exhibit
6:30 to 8:00 PM – Year of the Dragon Temporary Tattoos
6:30 to 8:00 PM – Paper Cutting Interactive Activity
6:30 to 7:30 PM – Live Traditional Asian Music
*Indoor cultural activities are accessible to celebrants who will be dining at Sbisa after the free public performances. Tickets for the Chinese dinner buffet are available at the door for $10.00 (meal plans are allowed); $5.00 for Children aged 3 to 10, and free for children 3 and under.
