Confucius Institute scholarship program

The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University would like to announce a scholarship opportunity for students interested in studying Chinese in China. The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program (CISP) was established by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters to encourage students and Chinese language teachers all over the world to study Chinese or conduct research regarding Chinese language and culture in China. Scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year will be available for one-semester Chinese language study, one-year Chinese language study, and Master’s Degree on Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.

Students are strongly encouraged to access Texas A&M and Hanban resources to find a suitable program and concurrently apply for the CISP to fund the academic program.

The application process at Texas A&M will involve two stages. The initial application to the scholarship program must be submitted to the Confucius Institute at Texas A&M before 5:00 pm, March 31st. The Confucius Institute will conduct a preliminary evaluation after March 31, selecting up to ten of the best candidates for formal submission to Hanban/ Confucius Institute Headquarters by April 10.
