TAMU student takes 1st place in Chinese speech competition

College Station, Texas, April 30, 2009 – Will Chambers wins first place in the Lower Level at the Texas College Students Chinese Speaking Competition in Houston, Texas on March 27, 2009. The Consulate General of PRC in Houston awarded him a certificate and a tie. He owes his win to the help and support of Professor Wang Ying and Chen Wenjuan of the Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University. Will has been studying Chinese at A&M since 2007 and spent last summer studying at Ocean University in Qingdao. Mr. Chambers is now scheduled to compete the 8th Chinese Bridge Speech Contest scheduled in Beijing this July and August.
